The two-day capacity-building programme, held under the theme “From Visibility to Leadership: Turning Influence into Impact,” brought together women leaders, media professionals, and industry experts from around the world to explore storytelling, communication, personal branding, and strategic leadership.
In her keynote address, Minister Valdez congratulated Women of Rubies for fostering a platform that strengthens women’s leadership capacity. She remarked that initiatives like the Media Visibility Bootcamp are essential for empowering women to “speak with confidence, shape their narratives, and access opportunities that foster long-term success.” She further added, “Leadership is not only an individual pursuit but a collective responsibility. We must continue to build a world where every woman can thrive, be seen, and be heard.”
Her remarks set the tone for a weekend filled with practical insights, panel discussions, and interactive workshops. Day one featured expert presentations from Andrea Carter, Chinwe Bode-Akinwande, and Tope Mark-Odigie, followed by a panel session with Urmi Hossain and Tobore Anne Emorhokpor, focusing on personal storytelling, emotional resilience, and overcoming barriers to visibility.
Day two continued with high-impact sessions led by Sola Oduwole, Adejisola Adetiba (Lady ABHA), and Nifemi Fagbohun. The closing panel, featuring Omoshalewa Onayemi, Faith Oloruntoba, and Jessica Campbell, explored visibility through the lenses of technology, global influence, and credibility, encouraging participants to embrace their uniqueness and leverage visibility as a tool for influence and opportunity.
Speaker Faith Oloruntoba described the Bootcamp as “an incredibly impactful experience,” highlighting the depth of engagement, vulnerability, and shared stories. She commended the Women of Rubies team for curating “a meaningful, high-quality experience that not only empowers women to show up confidently but also reminds speakers why our voices matter.”
Founder of Women of Rubies, Esther Ijewere, noted that the programme reinforces the principle that visibility is about leading with purpose, courage, and service. “This cohort reminded us that visibility is not about spotlight; it is about impact. The women who joined us showed extraordinary bravery, intentionality, and hunger to grow,” she said.
The 2025 Bootcamp was supported by a wide network of media and community partners, including Olorisupergal, Montreal Vendors, Naijapreneur Canada, Leading Ladies Connect, Teo Afrocarib Market Inc., and NaijaMarketDay, expanding the programme’s reach and accessibility.
Now in its fifth edition, the Women of Rubies Media Visibility Bootcamp has trained hundreds of women across multiple cohorts, solidifying its reputation as a leading global platform for women’s visibility and leadership development.
Women of Rubies remains committed to amplifying women’s voices, bridging visibility gaps, and supporting women in leadership across sectors.
