The award category, which cut across all aspects of the public sector, was presented to SUBEB for the various initiatives executed by Alawiye-King to revolutionize basic education in Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
According to the Guild, Alawiye-King won the award for taking the lead with Eko Excel program and also the various ingenious programs put in place during the lockdown necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic to ensure that pupils continue to lean from home, among others.
“As you are well aware, the Guild is the umbrella body for practicing Photo Journalists in Nigeria. We ply our trade across the broad spectrum of the popular national media houses in the country. We have been witnesses to the continuing evolution of our nation and have contributed and continue to contribute, positively to telling Nigeria’s and Nigerians’ stories through our visual presentations.
Indeed, our works have continuously lent credence to the saying, “A picture is worth more than a thousand words.”
“We have also, since the inception of the Guild, shown our thought leadership and torch-bearing credentials through our annual (two-in-one) event which include this award presentation,” the Guild said.
