On Friday, Turkey said the Palestinian people and administration were right to react strongly against the agreement.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement, said, “history and the conscience of the region’s peoples will not forget and never forgive this hypocritical behaviour of the UAE.”
The country called the development a betrayal of the Palestinian cause “for the sake of its narrow interests.”
Turkey noted that the UAE, with a unilateral action, tried to do away with the (2002) Arab Peace Plan developed by the Arab League.
Reuters reports that United States President, Donald Trump helped broker the accord.
Turkey’s relations with Israel have been strained after Israeli commandos killed 10 Turkish activists trying to breach a blockade on the Gaza Strip.
The UAE is the third Arab country to establish full relations with Israel.
Egypt and Jordan did the same in 1979 and 1994, respectively.
