The meeting, which occurred on Friday, January 19th, 2024, at the LASRERA Office Alausa, involved the Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu Fatai, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Housing, Barakat Odunuga Bakare, the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Ministry of Housing, LASRERA Officials, and key officials from Revolutionplus Property Development Company including CEO Dr. Bamidele Onalaja and GED Mrs. Tolulope Onalaja.
During the meeting, Mr. Kayode Oladipo was contacted and admitted that he had faced financial difficulties after losing his job and was unable to fulfill the required payments within the stipulated time frame. He also confirmed that he did not pay the alleged 40 million Naira but rather 18 million Naira. However, Revolutionplus Property's GED refuted this claim with evidence showing that only 16,752,000 Naira was paid to the company.
Further discussion revealed that Mr. Kayode Oladipo purchased land in 2017 but was unable to complete payments due to his job loss. He claimed to have returned in 2020, while Revolutionplus Property's CEO countered that he only reappeared in 2022, six years after his initial payment, demanding to be allotted the same land despite defaulting on payments.
The CEO empathized with Mr. Kayode Oladipo's financial situation and explained the penalties for payment default as per their contract. The company expressed its commitment to prioritizing customers by offering alternative options equivalent to the amount paid. Additionally, the CEO thanked His Excellency, the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, for allowing the company to present its side of the story.
In a bid to resolve the matter, it was agreed that Mr. Kayode Oladipo would record a video appreciating the Lagos State Government for mediating and retracting his false allegations of fraud against Revolutionplus Property. Once this video is completed, the company will immediately allocate alternative land in Amazon Estate, Epe, equivalent to the amount paid by Mr. Kayode Oladipo.
