Setting the Record Straight: BUA Truck Not Involved in Anambra Road Accident

10 July, 2024

Following recent online reports and a video circulating online, as well as an article published in the Tribune newspapers, BUA Cement Plc wishes to clarify that the truck involved in the accident on Agulu-Agwubu Road in Anambra State on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, is not a BUA Cement truck.

In statement released by the company media department “we extend our condolences to the families affected by this tragic accident, we want to ensure that the facts are accurate. BUA Cement trucks are clearly marked with our logo and truck numbers for easy identification. The truck in question does not belong to BUA Cement Plc.

It's important to note that BUA Cement sells its products ex-factory, and customers are responsible for transporting them. In some cases, we engage our transport and logistics arm, BUA Transport, to ensure safe delivery. Our transport company prioritizes safety and human life, and our drivers undergo regular training with professional logistic bodies, including the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC).

We kindly request that all platforms carrying the false report remove it. We sympathize with the families involved and pray for comfort and rest for the departed souls."
