He made the appeal on Friday at a meeting he held with co-aspirants, who ran against him at the primary election on Saturday, stressing that success at the polls in July should be paramount to all party members now.
He disclosed that he specifically requested for the meeting with co-aspirants to solicit their Supports and for them to be on the same page in the build up to the election.
Otunba Oloyede further posited that as a firm believer in God, he believes God has anointed him for the job ahead, and that it could have been any of the aspirants too.
In his words " I want us to all appeal to our teeming supporters to shun negative posts on social media, we are same family and the primary election on Saturday could have been won by any of us. To show my sincerity, I reached out to virtually all, promising to work together if they get the ticket and solicited that such gesture be extended if I am able to get it. So we are all winners in this election, as only one person will occupy the seat at a time, but we are all stakeholders. Let's join the campaign train for the progress and development of our local government."as no victor no vanquished.
He maintained that negative comments or posts will be counter productive to the party and diminish it's chances at the election, this, Kendoo specially appealled that such should be discontinued.
" I want you all to help appeal to all your supporters especially the online personalities to stop the negative posts on social media as it has the dangerous capacity of having negative effects on the party at the general election".
He promised he will always liase with his co-aspirants in the running of the local government for their inputs and the visions they have for the local government so that progress will be recorded.
He promised that once elected, the body of co-aspirants will be transformed into an advisory council that will give directions on policies and programmes of his government.
Otunba Oloyede however appreciated the presence of the aspirants at the meeting, and to others who couldn't make it. He advised that they should also be contacted to be part of it.
Earlier, the Acting chairman of the Party in the local government, Hon. Saheed Animashaun commended the APC candidate for his thoughtfulness in calling the meeting and that the party is also planning to convey a reconciliatory meeting amongst the aspirants.
He equally appealed for understanding and cooperation of all aspirants as the party prepares for the main election next month.
He assured the candidate of the support of the party at all times and that he will ensure others who were absent at the meeting will be contacted to be at the next meeting.
The highlight of the meeting was the inauguration of a contact committee ,to bring on board all other aspirants for the purpose of having a United house.
