Ladi 'LADO' Adebutu of PDP to Run for Oke-Mosan Governorship Seat in 2027

02 April, 2024

Reports from political circles in Ogun state suggest that Ladi Adebutu, the son of prominent Casino king and lottery magnate Kessington Adebutu, is gearing up for another shot at the gubernatorial seat in the state.

The well-known People's Democratic Party stalwart and gubernatorial hopeful has reportedly finalized his decision to contest the top position at the Oke-Mosun government house in the 2027 election.

Sources close to prominent politician Ladi Adebutu have revealed that the decision on his next political move has been made for him, with plans to contest the gubernatorial seat in Ogun state in the upcoming 2027 general election.

Adebutu, who entered politics by winning a National Assembly seat at the age of 30 in 1992, is reportedly strategizing for a successful campaign after narrowly losing the 2023 gubernatorial election to Governor Abiodun.

With divisions within the ruling All Progressives Congress benefiting his People’s Democratic Party, Adebutu is said to be actively correcting past mistakes and attracting support from disenchanted factions within both parties.

Insiders stated that Adebutu's meticulous planning and growing support base could pose a significant challenge to the ruling party in the upcoming election, setting the stage for a fiercely contested race in Ogun state.

“He is quietly courting and getting more people who are encouraged by his performance in the last general election against a more united ruling party to his side” insiders asserted.
