Just weeks after being removed from her position at EKEDC and sent back to WPG, Dr. Sanda's fate seemed uncertain as she fought against her removal with the support of some members on the board of EKEDC.
Despite efforts by her supporters to highlight her achievements and positive impact during her time at EKEDC, including claims that she was still the MD/CEO even after a new acting CEO was appointed, Dr. Sanda's troubles continued. The final blow came with a letter of termination signed by the chairman of WPG, Charles Momoh, dated April 17, 2024.
The letter, titled "Termination of Letter of Contract of Employment," stated that Dr. Sanda's services were no longer required and her employment with WPG Ltd was terminated with immediate effect in accordance with the terms of her contract.
Dr. Tinuade Sanda, a well-educated and brilliant woman, faced an abrupt end to what could have been her second year as the MD/CEO of EKEDC. With her experience and expertise in the power sector, it is likely that she will soon be sought after by another power company eager to benefit from her skills.
