Black Panther star, Chadwick Boseman dies at 43

29 August, 2020

Chadwick Boseman, the star of “Black Panther,” has died at 43.

This follows a four-year battle with colon cancer.

Boseman died in his Los Angeles home, surrounded by his wife and family, according to his publicist, Nicki Fioravante.

A statement from his family revealed that he filmed “during and between surgeries and chemotheraphy”.

It read: “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.

“From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more — all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.

“It was the honour of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.”

Before he was cast as the Marvel Studios superhero, Boseman portrayed Black American icons Jackie Robinson (in 2013’s “42”) and James Brown (in 2014’s “Get on Up”).
