Billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, is in a big giveaway mood as the countdown to his landmark 90h birthday begins.

On Friday, 17 October, 2025, he announced a donation of ₦1 billion each to Sagamu and Ikenne Local Government Areas, as well as his hometown, Iperu-Remo, for enhanced socio-economic and community development.

Sir Adebutu made the announcement while speaking at a symposium themed “Odole Odua: Symbol of Wealth Creation and Catalyst for Sustainable Development”, organised by the Iperu Akesan Development Association to kick off the celebration of his 90th birthday.

The businessman, visibly moved by the gesture, said he had not expected such a grand event in his honour.

“I am actually overwhelmed by this show of love as I celebrate my 90th birthday, and I am going to beat the imagination of the Remo people. What you have done for me is an invitation to do more for our people and our communities in Remoland.

“On this note, I hereby urge the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, to assemble some eminent personalities and propose a project worth ₦1 billion for Sagamu Local Government.

“There is another ₦1 billion for Ikenne Local Government, and for my hometown, the Iperu Akesan Development Association will also have ₦1 billion. These donations are to be utilised to enhance the development of our people and communities”, Adebutu said.

Meanwhile, plans have been perfected towards the hosting of a grand twin-celebration for the Odole Odua in his hometown, Iperu and later Lagos. All roads lead to Eko Hotels & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos on Friday, 24 October, 2025, for the mother of all celebration -as the lotto magnate joins the privileged nonagenarian club.

Kessington Adebutu has been one of the most prominent Nigerian businessmen and philanthropists for decades.

Popularly known as “Baba Ijebu”, he is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Lotto Limited, one of Nigeria’s largest gaming companies.
