The committee is chaired by the State Commissioner for Housing, Hon Theophilus Ugboajah.
Members of the implementation committee include Engr. Alozie Nwankwo,(Secretary), while Abia Head of Service, Sir Onyii Wamah, State Commissioner for Lands, Hon. Suleiman Ukandu and Mr. Okezie Ugboaja will serve as members of the committee.
However, speaking at the Government house, Umuahia, during the inauguration of the Implementation Committee on Abia Civil Service Housing Scheme, Governor Ikpeazu reiterated that his administration was desirous of giving Abia civil servants a befitting housing estate.
The governor represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu charged the committee to find out reasons the previous attempt by past administrations to give Abia civil a befitting housing scheme failed and use their findings to come up with modalities to make the housing scheme a reality within a short time.
The Governor further urged the committee to work out modalities to fast-track the ongoing federal government housing scheme and see how it will be of benefit to them and the state in the drive to give Abia civil servants a housing scheme.
Responding, the chairman of the committee and Commissioner for Housing, Ugboajah assured that members of the committee will work relentlessly to achieve government desire of giving Abia civil servants a befitting housing scheme and stressed the need for communities in the state to donate their land for meaningful development.
