According to him, the Democracy Day, June 12, was made possible by the sacrifices made by the late Chief MKO Abiola and the unrelenting spirit of Nigerians, living and dead and so, we cannot afford to let anything jeopardize it, as there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel.
According to Amusan, ‘’yes, we are not where we expected to be, after 25 years of the return of democratic rule, especially if we look at the current economic realities, but I believe there is light at the end of the tunnel and that Nigeria will soon return to its glory days. The sacrifice made by MKO Abiola; the symbol of the June 12 Democracy Day we are celebrating today, has not been in vain. We will never forget him and those Nigerians, dead and living who put everything on the line to ensure that we were freed from the shackles of military rule, the current president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu inclusive. There is no alternative to democratic rule and we as Nigerians must do all within our power to ensure that we sustain it’’.
