President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he is overwhelmed by the security situation in the northwest region. Buhari spoke on Thursday, 27 January, at the palace of Sa’ad Abubakar, Sultan of Sokoto, The Cable reports. The president said while the situation in the northeast and south-south has improved compared to when he assumed office, the challenges in the northwest are a different matter. Buhari, however, said he has charged the military and other security agencies not to spare any criminal posing a threat to the peace and safety of Nigerians. “Every day, we are worried about what is happening in the northwest. This medium learnt that the former SSG died early Tuesday, 25 January, 2022 after a brief illness. She was in her 60s. Adenrele Adeniran Ogunsanya was the Lagos SSG during the first term in office of Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN between 2007 and 2011. She was the daughter of prominent Ikorodu born politician and associate of the late Nnamdi Azikiwe, Prince Adeniran Ogunsanya.
