EFCC detains VON boss, Osita Okechukwu over alleged N1.3bn fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday detained the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) Osita Okechukwu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, was reportedly detained over a case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of ₦1.3 billion.

The National Defence College (NDC) of Tanzania has commended Dangote Cement for fueling job creation in the country. The Commandant of the College, Major Gen. IM Mhona, stated this when he led a delegation of participants from the institution as part of the one-year course for high-ranking army officials. Gunmen attack THISDAY office in Abuja, threaten to kill staff

The office of THISDAY located at Utako district in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has been raided by gunmen. According to the newspaper, the gunmen stormed the office in the early hours of Thursday. The intruders were said to have subjected the security guards and production staff to “inhumane treatments”, threatening to kill them if they made any attempt to alert the police. Although the mission of the armed men, who arrived at the premises at about 3 am yesterday has yet to be ascertained, the gunmen who were said to be in the premises of the newspaper’s office for about 45 minutes, reportedly told the staff that they would be back again “in the days ahead”. President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed that he is overwhelmed by the security situation in the northwest region.
