CDS, Mrs Akpaumontia and 148 Others Conferred With NIM Highest Honour in Lagos

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Christopher Musa, the wife of Brig Gen Isang Akpaumontia(Barr Mrs Ndidiamaka Helen Akpaumontia) and 148 other Nigerians recently have been conferred with the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Fellowship at the 2024 Awards, Fellows and Spouses’ Day Luncheon held in Lagos.

The event was indeed colourful and a show of class, glitz and glamour at the 2024 Awards, Fellows and Spouses' Day Luncheon of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) held in the sprawling and expensive Shell Hall of MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos recently.

The President and Chairman of Council of the Institute, Dr. (Mrs.) Christiana Atako, FNIM, NPoM stated that the event is a ceremony where qualified and deserving members are conferred the highest and most prestigious professional membership grade of the NIM.

She further disclosed that the process of upgrading members to Fellow cadre started in February 1963 when the first three Fellows of the Institute were elected and inducted. According to her, fellowship upgrade is not an end in itself but rather a call to higher responsibility and service to the Institute, the management profession and the nation.

One of high points of the event was the presentation of brief Citation of Barr Mrs Ndidiamaka Helen Akpaumontia LLB, BL, CEDR (UK), MNIM, FICMC, JP.

Ndidiamaka Helen Akpaumontia was born into the family of Mr and Mrs Nwanchukwu Okorie from Nkanu West in Enugu State – Nigeria. She is a seasoned Legal Practitioner and Accredited mediator. Ndidiamaka holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Uyo. She attended the Nigerian Law School. She also holds a certificate on Dispute Resolution from Center for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) England.

Mrs Akpaumontia worked with different legal professional bodies and also held various appointments. She is with Harries Law Partners. She is a member of several professional bodies which includes, the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), NBA Women Forum, International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA), a fellow with ICMC, Fellow Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). She runs Sangdid Foundation a humanitarian organization that carters for widows and children total well-being.

She is happily married with 4 children.
