The efforts provided food, medical supplies, and essential non-food items for tens of thousands of flood victims in Borno State. The donation included 1,000 cartons each of spaghetti, tomato paste, and groundnut oil, as well as 200 bags of maize flour and 500 bags of 25kg rice. Additionally, they distributed 10,000 loaves of bread, 200 cartons of seasoning, 100 cartons of sugar, and 1,000 bags of salt.
The relief package also featured vital supplies such as 5,000 mosquito nets, 1,000 mattresses, and 4,000 blankets, along with wash kits, buckets, sanitary wares, kettles, wrappers, and 10,000 mats.
In terms of medical aid, the initiative included a range of medications, including antimalarial drugs, analgesics, antihypertensive medications, and antibiotics. To bolster these efforts, 50 medical doctors were mobilized to support the State Ministry of Health.
“The Noella Foundation is dedicated to quickly alleviating the suffering of Nigerians in need,” said Seyi Tinubu, co-founder of the foundation. In a message to the Governor of Borno, he emphasized, “We respond with action when our people are in need.” He urged more Nigerians to join in supporting these vital efforts.
The overwhelming generosity and dedication displayed nationwide have been nothing short of inspiring. As President Tinubu stated earlier this week, “Borno will rise again!”
Founded in 2018 by Layal and Seyi Tinubu, the Noella Foundation has made significant strides in improving the lives of children and young people across Nigeria. As Seyi hands over leadership to Layal, who becomes the Executive Director, the foundation is poised to enter a new chapter, continuing its mission to address evolving challenges and create a positive impact in marginalized communities.
Seyi Tinubu’s commitment to social change and fostering international partnerships promises to bring fresh perspectives to the foundation’s ongoing work.
For the record, during the COVID lockdown, Seyi Tinubu, his wife Layal, and the Noella Foundation partnered with Foodclique to conduct one of the largest food drives in Nigeria. Together, they mobilized various partners to provide over 1,000,000 meals to families and disadvantaged communities in Lagos and surrounding states throughout the lockdown period.
