YK @ 60: Gov. Sanwoolu Dazzles Fela’s family

It, however, came to many as a surprise that the governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu, who does not show up at events like this, came with a full entourage to the event that took place at the heartbeat of Lagos, the popular Afrika Shrine. On the arrival of the Governor, which the birthday girl wasn’t expecting, it took the entire vicinity with shock and admiration that the governor could align with the Fela Anikulapo family; despite the misconception in town that the State Government and that popular family were at loggerheads, and this was a correction of the fact that Gov. Sanwoolu and his administration do not have any misgiving for the family of the late legendary musician. Gov. Sanwoolu’s presence at Yeni Kuti’s birthday anniversary is now a further attestation to the fact that he does not harbour any offense from anybody that resides and works in the state. YK’s siblings, Femi, Seun and others were full of gratification to the governor’s show of love and personal attendance at their elder’s sister sixty birthday celebration, and this would remain the best gift for the celebrator, Yeni Kuti, a mother of one, great entertainer and public analyst on social issues.
