The world football governing body, FIFA, has made some changes to the list of match officials ahead of the crucial 2022 World Cup Qualifier, WCQ, between Nigeria and Ghana.
Nigeria's Super Eagles face their Ghanaian counterparts, the Black Stars, in an all-important double-header that will determine which team will represent Africa at the FIFA World Cup later this year in Qatar.
The first leg of that tie is scheduled for Friday, March 25, in Cape Coast, with the second leg set for four days later, on Tuesday, March 29, in Nigeria's capital, Abuja.
Moroccans Rédouane Jiyed (referee), Lahsen Azgaou (assistant referee 1), Mostafa Akarkad (assistant referee 2), and Samir Guezzaz (fourth official) are retained for the first leg match in Cape Coast, according to a new appointment sheet made available via the Nigeria Football Federation.
Mandu Humphrey of Uganda, on the other hand, will now replace South African David Junse Van Vuuren as the tie's security officer.
The VAR official will be Bernie Raymond Blom of the Netherlands, who will be assisted by compatriot Rob Dieperink, and the referee assessor for the day will be Athanse Nkubito of Rwanda.
Guinea-Gregorio Bissau's Badupa will serve as match commissioner, with South Sudan's Victor Lawrence Lual serving as general coordinator.
FIFA also replaced former FIFA referee Essam Abdelfattah Abdelhamid as the referee assessor for the return leg in Abuja. Badara Diatta, a former FIFA referee from Senegal, has taken his place.
Sadok Selmi (Tunisian; referee); Khalil Hassani (Tunisia; assistant referee 1); Attia Amsaaed (Libyan; assistant referee 2) and Haythem Guirat (Tunisian; fourth official) are all back, as are Frenchmen Jérôme Brisard (VAR) and Willy Louis Delajod (assistant VAR); Prince Kai Saquee (Sierra Leon (South African; general coordinator).
