A three-year contract is being prepared for Eriksen, who is still to have his medical at Old Trafford. The 30-year-old could be United and new manager Erik ten Hag's second signing of the summer transfer window, with Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia undergoing a medical at Carrington ahead of his move.
Eriksen returned to the English top flight when he joined Brentford in January after being released by Serie A club Inter Milan. After experiencing a heart arrest at Euro 2020, he had to leave the Italian team and had an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) installed. The Serie A does not allow players with ICDs to compete.
Eriksen's decision to not re-sign for The Bees is believed to have been difficult due to the opportunity offered to him by fellow Dane and Brentford manager Frank as well as the fact that his family enjoys living in London. However, he has now settled on United.
