A storm is brewing in the oil and gas industry. It involves top dogs like Onajite Okoloko, the chairman of Eroton Exploration & Production Company Limited, Sahara Energy, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited. Okoloko, a co-founder of OandO Plc and formidable oil and gas player, started Eroton Exploration & Production Company (Eroton) in August 2013 as an independent and indigenous oil and gas company. The company commenced operations in 2015 and has become a key player in the upstream sector with a critical interest in the Niger Delta petroleum sector.

Elegushi of Ikate kingdom, Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi has commiserated with the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the management and the enire community of the Lagos State University (LASU) over the death of Professor Esther Adeyinka Okubena-Dipeolu, a Professor of Botany and Director of the Lagos State University Directorate of Advancement (LASUDA).

In a letter of condolence addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Oba Elegushi described the death of Professor Diepolu as shocking and painful, stating that the university has been denied the services of one of its outstanding administrators and intellectuals, who demonstrated uncommon passion towards the development of the university.

"I was shocked upon receiving the news of the passing of Professor Okubena; it was a very sad one. I was still in touch with her on some of the projects we intend to do at the university,” the traditional ruler stated.

He added; "Prof Okubena was passionate about LASU; she was committed to the development of the university and was rallying all stakeholders, through the LASUDA, to ensure that we all contribute to the continous development of the institution.

Oba Elegushi commiserated with the LASU community, family and friends, praying for strength at this moment of grief and the repose of the soul of the departed.

Africa’s Global Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, has released its unaudited results for the first quarter ended March 31st, 2023, recording remarkable growth across all its major income lines. 

Despite the economic headwinds that characterised 2022, Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc (DSR) will pay N18.22 billion as dividends to shareholders for the year ended December 31, 2022, while also targeting the production of over 170,000 tonnes of sugar next season. The dividend payout will translate to N1.50 kobo per share held by shareholders.

Good things sometimes come in twos or threes, at least that is the idea. The same is true for bad things. Nevertheless, to someone prepared to handle either, neither good nor bad news can shake them off their rockers.
