The President knows right and has taken audacious steps with the appointment of new service chiefs with proven military expertise and years of remarkable experience in service to fatherland’, says the board member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayo Ogunsan to National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP as he congratulated the acting Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun and the new Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen. TA Lagbaja.
Recalling the remarkable record that the duo brings to the table, Ogunsan, however, charged them to hit the ground running. ‘The challenges of banditry, kidnapping, and other forms of insecurity are not waiting. You can see what just happened in Mangu LGA of Plateau State recently. Hit the ground running like your principal, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We need action’, he tasked Egbetokun and Lagbaja.
The Chairman of Executive Group, Ayo Ogunsan continued: ‘I recall the exploits of Egbetokun as the CSO incidentally to Asiwaju Tinubu years ago as Governor. Kayode Egbetokun also brings to bear the value of being on the trajectory of continuous personal development. Imagine that he laxed on improving himself, where would he be today. I encourage youths to pick valuable lessons from Egbetokun.’
On COAS Lagbaja, the Grand Patron of the Police-Community Relations Committee (PCRC) in Lagos, Ogunsan added: ‘President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown once again that he places premium on service-oriented and value-driven individuals. To the credit of COAS Lagbaja, I would say he is someone that would give commands and follow through on the implementation because he will be there at the theatre of operation. He is a General rooting for you and acting with you on the frontlines.’
‘This duo deserves commendation of Nigerians. Likewise, the President and Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR who appointed them. I want them to hit the ground running’, Ogunsan concluded.
