The yearly scholarship and mentorship programme of the foundation is meant to assist indigent students in the council area.
The Council Boss gave the commendation on Tuesday at the year 2021 scholarship of the Foundation where he appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the scholarship.
Otunba Oloyede who was represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gbenga Soloki, appreciates the foundation for the concept, urging all other corporate organisations to follow suit in ensuring that indigent students are encouraged, supported and uplifted to be successful in life.
He said; “let me firstly commend the entire leadership of the Red start Foundation for this audable initiative. It’s a novel idea and we, are proud that such is happening in our local government. It’s on this note that I want to appeal to other corporate organisations to take a cue from this and replicate such in order to uplift and support indigent but brilliant pupils. I equally want to advise the beneficiaries of today to ensure they make use of the support properly, they should refrain from acts capable of derailing them in their academic pursuit.”
The council chairman equally appealed to the parents of the awardees to continue to mentor them properly and monitor their academic performance in order to justify the gesture from the foundation.
Speaking at the presentation of the scholarship awards to the students, the representative of the Red Star Foundation saod the aim of the organisation for the scholarship is meant to assist indigents students go to school seamlessly.
The awardees appreciated the foundation for finding them worthy of the scholarship as they promise to make judicious use of it.
