Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had accused the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila of covering corrupt practices by shutting down the sitting of various committees investigating the Executive Arm of government
But, Rep Ogah, who is a chieftain of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, in a release made available to DAILY POST on Monday, called on the PDP to tender an apology to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila within 24hrs over the alleged unjust statement by the latter.
The federal lawmaker maintained that the speaker has performed above average as a legislator.
He lamented that it was uncalled for, that PDP members would stand as agents of darkness looking for ways of destroying and disorganizing activities in the parliament.
Ogah reiterated that the speaker had at no time or day stopped the investigation of the parliament.
He posited, “the 9th Assembly is the only parliament that has unveiled a lot of things in Nigeria; that has been supportive especially in the area of fighting corruption in favour of President Muhammadu Buhari’s good agenda. And for the Publicity Secretary to call for the resignation of the speaker, accusing him of stopping an investigation is the highest character assassination”.
Ogah, however, cautioned the main opposition party, to be warned and focus on its direct criticisms on democracy.
