Dancing On the Grave of Raji Oba: Obasa Denigrating Awori Heritage

Dancing On the Grave of Raji Oba: Obasa Denigrating Awori Heritage

18 May, 2025

When the list of the Chairmanship candidates of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the coming council elections in the state, one name conspicuously stood out.

The name is Abiodun Isola, designated as Chairmanship candidate for Agbado-Okeodo Local Council Development Area.

For the uninitiated, Isola is a mere politician who is gunning for the Chairmanship seat of a council within the Alimoso Federal Constituency of Lagos State.

However, to the initiated particularly the Awori people of Alimoso and Lagos at large, Isola is more than that. Abiodun is the son of Alhaji Isola Ejigbadero, the man who shot dead Raji Oba, a progenitor of the Awori race over ownership of land.

The story of how Ejigbadero was arrested, tried, convicted and eventually hanged is in the public domain.

Ejigbadero, though paid the supreme price, the Awori people have only forgiven but not forget.

That's why for we in the Awori Professionals, we want to express our disgust and utter disappointment in the APC for total disregard to one of our progenitors.

Why will APC gives the Chairmanship slot to the son of the man who killed one of our fathers? In the same land the man was killed rub salt to the injury.

Why Abiodun Ishola? Why Ejigbadero? Why Agbado-Okeodo? Why sticking dagger further into the hearts of the Aworis?

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, why are you giving Mudashiru Obasa the leeway to rubbish the Awori legacy?

Let's remind you that the boy, Abiodun Ishola, has taken over from where his father stopped.

He has become one of the notorious Lagos land speculators. Late last year, he was the brain behind the violence in Iyana Ipaja that led to the death of one person.

He has been involved in several land takeovers and violence attached to it.

Last year, it was this same Ejigbadero that led bulldozers to demolish buildings at Aluminium Village in Dopemu.

Investigations have revealed that this boy has become a tool in the hands of Mudashiru Obasa to expand his land empire across Lagos.

Obasa wants to use Ejigbadero the same way he used his stooge and current Chairman of Agege Local Government, Kola Egunjobi to forcefully take over land and properties in Alimoso Federal Constituency.

Obasa has developed an obsession for acquiring landed property. His celebrated case with Mrs Ibukun Awosika of Chrisland Schools over land in GRA is still there.

Obasa's desire to acquire more land made him sacrifice Bolaji Sanusi, his favoured candidate for Ojokoro LCDA to impose Ejigbadero on the people of Agbado-Okeodo and Alimoso in extension.

Awori people spread across Lagos and Ogun States have not forgotten the gruesome murder of one of their progenitors, and though the man paid the supreme price, the injury is still fresh.

The son has returned with a vengeance, wrecking further havoc in Alimoso with the active backing of Mudashiru Obasa using the instrument of power as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The same Ejigbadero, on the prompting of Obasa, wrote a petition to the House of Assembly demanding billions of naira from Alimoso Local Government as compensation for the land in which the present Iyana Ipaja market is located.

Now, Obasa has imposed him as the Chairman of Agbado-Okeodo LCDA. Every land owner in Alimoso should be ready for forceful takeover of their land. They should be prepared to battle for ownership of their properties. The Ajagingbale is here backed by the head of the state Assembly.

For your information, Ejigbadero only has a house in Agbado-Okeodo, he doesn't play his politics there. He does not attend meetings of the party, he was not known to any party member in the council and has never participated in any of their activities. He has no ward, has not been to any meeting of the party in the council.

But the all powerful, all conquering Mudashiru Obasa, in his majestic power, decided that Ejigbadero should be the one to rule the land where his father murder one of the progenitors of the Awori people.

What a shame to Awori elders, leaders and those in government circle.

Awori Welfare Association of Nigeria (AWAN) what are you doing to avert this calamity? Awori Resource Group (ARG), will you open your eyes and allow this insult to go like that?

Your Excellency, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire are you watching this happen? What are you doing? Are you taking this insult just like that?

Comrade Kayode Opeifa, so you are also a party to this?

Cornelius Ojelabi, which party are you presiding over that descerating the lineage of your people?

Senator Idiat Oluranti Adebule, you are there ooo? Oluyinka Ogundimu, Mubashiru Hassan, Olajide 'Jandor' Adediran, Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan, Alhaji Muhammad Olagbaye and all of you Awori sons and daughters at the top, the ancestors of Awori land will ask you and query on the damage you have done to Awori land.

Can this insult happen to the of Ikorodu, Epe or Ibeju?

All the traditional rules in Awori land particularly those in Alimoso and Badagry axis, the Awori forefathers will query all of you.

It's we Awori, the likes of Mudashiru Obasa can slap and continue to slap. And yet our leaders will continue to turn their cheeks in the name of political appointments.

Awon alaale Awori aa bi yin oooo
